So, I had half a blog written this morning and for some reason proceeded to forget about it and close the window. Can someone say idiot? Yeah.
Anyway, I’ve been working quite hard lately. By payday (Wednesday) I should have about $200 in my account after tax (20%.. ridiculous.) which is nice. I might spend it on a present for my parents for Christmas. :) I’ll be working plenty of extra shifts between now and when I leave for Sydney too. I’m not complaining - I need the money at the moment after my splurge on my gorgeous camera.
So, I decided to join Sparkpeople.com to help me monitor my nutrition, exercise and weight loss. Unfortunately the site runs on American time (I’ve yet to figure out a way to change it to my timezone) so the day changes halfway through my day, but I think I’ll just end up adding things to my nutrition guide after the american “tick over” time, which is about 8pm my time, I believe. All the same though, I’m glad I finally found a site dedicated to what I’m trying to achieve. The community there is great and supportive too.
I’m heading off to James’s place in about an hour or so. I haven’t seen him in almost a week because of work - I’ve had to be in town, whilst he stays with his parents during the holidays. He’s picking me up relatively soon and I’ll get two days with him before I have to go another week without him again. :o I miss him a lot, but I’m used to the time apart. After all, we were spending months apart for the past three years, so I am VERY used to not seeing him for long periods of time. It doesn’t mean I miss him any less though, I’m just happier to spend time apart nowadays, because quite literally, I can see him whenever I want now for the cost of a train ticket or petrol.
Not much else to update on. I’ll leave you with some recent photos. :)
Night!
The September full moon is known as the Harvest moon. It is generally larger, and therefore appears brighter from Earth. It is the full moon closest to the autumnal equinox.
It is a “Harvest moon” because farmers used to use the light given by the seemingly larger, brighter moon in order to harvest their crops, long into the night.
I bet if you tried, you’d be able to read a book with just the light of the full Harvest Moon.
(Note: The photo featured, whilst it is the september full moon, is not a harvest moon. The harvest moon for the Southern Hemisphere occurs in March, it’s autumn.)
I finally joined flickr, and have uploaded quite a bit of my photography there! I’d really like it if you guys checked it out.
