I’ve been a pretty terrible blogger lately, so I really need to get back into it.
Tomorrow evening I have a test for one of my biology classes. I’m quite nervous about it, to tell you the honest truth. I’ve done very little study for it, so i’m quite apprehensive. Oy!
I finished a report for my Adaptive Design course today, though. It was based on the field trip we went on earlier in the year, and was mainly about Australasian Gannets. It was the most interesting field trip or report i’ve ever experienced, but at least I managed to get it out of the way pretty quickly.
Tomorrow is the last day of University for the year, which is a GREAT thing. The exam period starts next week and finishes the 17th of November … By the 17th, I’ll already be in Sydney, so woo! I have exams on the 3rd and 4th of November, then the 13th and 14th. I’ve got a lot of time to prepare for them, so I’m not too fussed. :)
You know, I really shouldn’t knit,
a) When it’s bordering the very late hours of the evening
b) When i’ve had some wine
c) When I’m in the middle of watching a movie
or
d) When I’m ready to pass out from exhaustion.
Or maybe I should just learn to read instructions. Regardless, now I have to go back about seven rows just to fix up something I should have done in the first place. Typical!
Knitting aside, EPIC SHAME ON ME! I could not suck more at blogging at of lately. I keep wanting to go and blog, but I get distracted by things like The Sims 2, knitting, The Sims 2, TV, The Sims 2, Uni work … Ohh my bed looks so comfy right now .. nah… I’ll play some Sims.
I wish I had a better excuse to explain my suckage, but it really is as simple as that. I did think about coming up with some far fetched excuse like that my mum was abducted by aliens and I had to travel into the depths of space to bring her back home, or that Elyse kidnapped me and kept me hostage in the back of her closet, feeding me on food scraps, and peanut butter she scraped off her sex midgets… But alas, no. It is a silly little computer game which allows me to play God which as been absorbing all my time.
Yes. I finally bought the Sims 2 and various expansions for Mac. I have a perfectly fine working copy of the game and most of the expansions for Windows, but thanks to the Bill-Gates asskissers that are Maxis, who won’t acknowledge the wonder that is Steve Jobs, I don’t have a cross-compatible game, and have to buy new ones. You know, they really could learn from Blizzard in that sense.
Back on topic … So, I’ve been abusing the game, making my little minions Sims do petty little tasks… Have Dinner, Take Bubble Bath, Teach toddler to talk, Have affairs with four other sims half your age and break up with your wife, Die when the hot tub catches fire and your ex-wife doesn’t care enough to extinguish the flames … Sad, but true. I am a vengeful God. All in all, i’ve been enjoying the game. I think I’m starting to get over the “OMFG I CAN FINALLY PLAY THIS AWESOME GAME AGAIN” phase now, and should be back to normal within a week, but it’s been almost two years since I played the game, so i’m lapping up all the excitement (and new expansions) that I can … At least until The sims 3 is released.
OKAY, enough about The Sims. Uni has been kicking me in the arse repeatedly to the point where I sit in my lectures thinking up all the horrible ways that my lecturers could be tortured, much like they’re torturing me. Death by essay paper is looking exceedingly entertaining as we go on …
Seriously though, my lecturers are quite cool. My Biometry lecturer is quite possibly mentally unstable. He prances around the lecture room, shouts at random intervals, does jigs when he feels like it and .. oh… He brings his ventriloquist dummy to class regularly. My Geography lecturer appears to be turned on by death, high death tolls, and epic ways to die … He gets all excited and giggly when he starts talking about deaths due to natural disasters, and is quite sadistic. Especially when there’s Lava involved. Sadly, my Chemistry lecturer is as boring as fuck, but the lectures are quite interesting so it’s not too much of an issue.
I gave myself a mild panic attack and break down the other day. I’d been in one of my down-and-depressed-but-have-no-reason-to-be moods all day, and I finally got around to starting my assignment, and just did not get it. At all. I couldn’t do even a simple probability question. And I broke down, and cried, and wanted to drop my class, and curl into a ball and die. I’m fairly sure James was about ready to lock me into a nice, cushy padded room. Thankfully he was patient, and the next day we worked through the assignment together. Still, what the!? Could my mood have been more retarded!?
So what else is up in the world of Sarah? My tattoo has healed up perfectly, albeit a little itchy. I started a diet two-and-a-bit weeks ago (A liquid diet, will explain in another blog) and have thus far lost over 3kgs. I’m enjoying the diet too because it’s so easy, and I only have to worry about dinner.
That’s pretty much it. If you read all of this novel you really do deserve a medal.
Guh. Holidays ended yesterday, and I’ve still yet to go to uni. Why? I cant be fucked. Quite seriously - 7am is just too early for me at the moment, I’m dead tired from studying and, to be honest, everything I need is in the textbook. Too easy.
So I rearranged my furniture yesterday. And cleaned. Hey, I did something productive!
Kay, SCIENCE GEEK WEEKLY TIME. Bring it on, bitch!
Plants need sex too!
Many plants undergo sexual reproduction - that is - there are two cells containing half the required chromosomes - fusion of these two cells produces a viable zygote embryo.Angiosperms, that is, flowering plants, do this through the use of their flowers. Flowers contain female (stigma) and male (anther/stamen) parts. Pollination involves a pollen grain developing a pollen tube down the female stigma, which carries the two sperm down to the ovule.
Angiosperms also undergo double fertilisation - one sperm fertilises the egg, whilst the other sperm fuses with what is known as the polar nuclei in order to form an endosperm, from which the developing embryo can gain nutrition later on.
Edit: You know what really grinds my gears? Spending 30 minutes on the phone with tech support, trying to fix a software issue with a BRAND NEW computer. Really, I shouldn’t have had to fuck around with that, as simple as it was to fix. :(
Guh. Day = getting worse.
The weather sucks ass today. How fitting for the first day back at uni, for which I have to trudge back and forward from my apartment to THREE TIMES every day this week. Fuck. I hope it stops raining.
Five days. I’m nearly pissing myself in excitement.
Yeah, this was pointless.
TAKE ME TO THE PLACE WHERE THE SUNSHINE FLOWS
ON MY SUNSET RODEOOOO…!
Okay, that’s enough of me singing Robbie songs. :)
So yes, I had my exam yesterday — er, Saturday, considering it’s now Monday, it wasn’t yesterday. :P It went considerably well - I didn’t leave anything left unanswered. Fairly sure I got at least 70%, maybe 80%. Biochemistry fucked me around though. Thank god I don’t have to do biochem again. I certainly won’t be continuing with it.
Next exam is on Thursday. I haven’t started studying yet, even though I should because I didn’t go to most of those lectures OR read the course material. Meh, It’s not really contributing to my degree anyway so I don’t care if I fail. I wanted to try law to see if I liked it, and well.. I don’t! I’m fairly sure that Dad won’t care if I fail it either, considering I’ve never even taken a law subject before, and he knows I was just trying it to see if I liked it or not. Meh.
On to more exciting topics… I saw P!nk in concert tonig — er, last night! She was surprisingly good - Even though I don’t really call myself a massive pink fan, I really did enjoy myself. She did a lot of her old stuff, and I found myself unable to resist singing along. However, there was a stupid fuck sitting behind me who would not stay seated, would not shut up, and would not stop dancing so badly that she almost concussed the person sitting right infront of her. I’m sure she and her 40-year-old saggy hanging-out-everywhere tits ruined the concert for everyone sitting around her. I myself got decked in the head by her as she drunken-stumbled past me. Management had to ask her SIX times to sit down and control herself — which she failed to do. They just gave up after that. If it was me, I would have kicked the bitch out.
The concert really was good. P!nk is a great entertainer - she gets really into the whole performance aspect of concerts - she was doing all this hanging-from-cloth-ropes-suspended-in-the-air crazy acrobatic stuff that you would expect to see in Cirque Du Soleil. It was really good :)
And if i don’t say so myself… Her female dancers were pretty fucking hot.
I registered at Bloggerwave today just so I could have a wider range of sponsored post opportunities. PPP is great, but I’m just not interested in a lot of topics they have to offer me. Bloggerwave doesn’t have many opportunities yet, but hopefully it’ll get better. I may join up to some other companies too to see what they have to offer.
Just because I’m registering at more places, doesn’t mean that I’ll be doing more sponsored blogging. I’ll still stick to the two-or-three a week rule, and it will only be on stuff that interests me! I’m just registering at these places for the variety of opportunities!
Eh, off to snuggle in my bed and listen to my ipod through my nifty new speakers :)
