It’s indie rock and roll for me

Anyone who has known me for longer than five minutes knows how much I love my music, and in particular, my indie and alternative rock. I’ll happily sit there for hours just listening to the same band over and over.

Not surprisingly, some of the best indie and alternative rock these days is being shot out of the United Kingdom. I’m always stumbling across new music tastes, bands and music sites, and lately I’ve been looking into a lot of online radio stations. (Some of you may know that I had the offer to host a radio show, only to have to fly out to Sydney so suddenly.)

XFM is an online radio show based in London, which has finally rolled onto the web. Their music news is always up to date. They have many site-exclusive, and even UK-exclusive offers on gigs, tickets and giveaways.

Oh, and of course, their podcasts give an offering of indie and alternative rock music to your ears! I’ve been listening to their live stream through their homepage for about an hour now. Right now they’re playing my favourite Kings of Leon song, which makes me very happy!

So now, you can listen to one of the UK’s best Indie rock stations straight through the internet!

Yawn.

It’s been a busy and stressful couple of days. I’ve had my family here since Saturday, which has been a really nice change from the sad. We had a whole hotel full of people, including my Aunty Sue, the mother of Charlotte, who passed away, and her husband, my Nana, my cousins, including Emma, who’s one and GORGEOUS, my two other cousins, my uncle Robert and uncle Michael… talk about a gathering.

Even though it was so sad and stressful, it really made me realise just how much I miss being here in Sydney and seeing my family. They’re such a big part of my life and I miss them terribly when I’m away. I think it’s brought us closer though. Like my Nana said, I’m glad that we are a close-nit family, and not not speaking to each other. My mum’s like that with her family, and i’m fairly sure most of them don’t even know how sick she’s been. It makes me so happy to know I at least have half my family there for me. :)

Arizona holidays

Arizona is a gorgeous state. It’s one of the many states of the USA that I REALLY want to visit. The scenery just seems so different to what I’m used to, and the landscape really is a photographer’s dream. There are plenty of Private Vacation Rental Homes in Arizona which I would love to stay at, even some with more than 6 bedrooms. They’d be perfect if you were traveling with friends or family.

Trying to stay positive.

With all this crap that’s been happening lately, I’m really trying to stay positive. I’m trying to keep my mind on things other than the crap that’s been happening. I’ve been reading, watching a lot of TV, doing stuff that makes me laugh. At least it makes me forget about all this shit.

My cousin died the other day. I’ve come back to Sydney to be with my family because I just didn’t think It was right for me to be away. Ive applied for compassionate consideration regarding my exams, two of which i won’t be sitting (at least not until next semester.)

I’m trying to keep up with my blogging too. I know it may seem insincere but It’s keeping my mind off things, and i’m broke at the moment, so it’s helping.

ehh..

Gaming geek!

I’m completely into my games at the moment. I’m looking forward to buying some new Wii Games soon: I’ve been thinking of getting Super Mario Galaxy, and Mario Kart for quite a while. I also REALLY want to get Wii Fit. I think it could really help with my exercise and diet regime.

I’ve also been looking at the PS3 Games and PS2 games available at Gamestoreusa.com. I’m trying to find a game that James would like. There are so many games to choose from at he moment, it’s actually kind of daunting!

The range of Wii Games and PS3 Games at gamestoreusa.com are surprisingly cheap and there’s heaps of them! I’ll probably be ordering some games from these guys sometime soon :)
