I’m so tired. Some super-shit went down at work a few days ago, causing two people to quit, and leaving me with work every day until I leave. I don’t mind the world, it’s good pay and it gives me something to do, but it’s the standing-for-six-hours-at-a-time type thing that sucks. My legs officially hate me (it actually hurt to sit down yesterday because i’d been standing for so long, but just as painful to stay standing. I can’t win.) Today I have to work a double shift (which = about $144 before tax just today alone - what I normally make in a week) so I can definitely ensure that I’ll be exhausted and in bed as soon as I’m home.
So, I leave for Sydney on Friday morning. I have to be at the airport at 7am. I don’t know what the fuck I was thinking booking that ticket.. maybe it was cheaper. Holy Jesus though, 7am. o_O; that means wakey-wakey at about 5/5.30. Piffle. On the good side, I’m already half packed because I’m not going to have a change between now and when James picks me up on Thursday afternoon (his house is closer to the airport, and saves his dad driving all the way past the airport into the city and back to the airport just to drop us off.) I really am looking forward to seeing my family again. I’ve been getting a little homesick the last couple of weeks.
James and I went birthday and Christmas shopping the other day. For James’s Birthday (he turned 21 on Dec. 1st) and Christmas present, I bought him a few shirts (about $100 all up) and I also bought him the Nokia N95 cellphone - his previous cell phone was really ready to bite the dust, and I didn’t want to get him a cellphone that could be replaced with better technology within a few months, so I got him the top-of-the-line N95. It’s a great phone, completely worth the $800 I spent, and he’s absolutely chuffed with it. Yay! James purchased a ring for my Christmas present. He spent way too much money on it, but we did get about 25% of the price off just by haggling with the guy. I’ll take some pictures when I go to pick it up tomorrow - It’s currently being resized.
Jenn is home with little Matthew! Good luck hon, and welcome to motherhood!
Well, I’ve got to go and get ready for work now. And pump myself with caffeine so I can actually wake up.

Hey there, haven’t visited for a while =(
There’s definitely sacrifices made for work that… while the money might be great, you have to wonder what the toll on your body is. When I’m on register, I do pricing at the same time, soImove around and do things, but I’m still on my feet for hours at a time. It gets to a point where everything hurts, to stand or to sit, even when standing there’s no point of my foot that I can stand on that doesn’t hurt - my heel - the flat of my foot - everything is sore. You’re probably just the same, hey? Poor thing.
Seeing your family, that’s great. I hope you have a fantastic trip.
Your presents for each other sound really nice. And useful too, I’m sure James will love his phone for years to come =P
Take care now.
