Bella Luna

So, today marks nineteen years of which I have graced the earth with my presence. ;) Yes, today is my ninetenth birthday, and I have to say, it’s certainly a weird feeling knowing that I only have one more year of teenagerdom. At the same time, it’s a relief. I’m getting on with my life, and with each year brings new accomplishments and new challenges. In the last year i’ve proved myself in so many ways. Not proved myself to others - I’ve proved myself to myself. I’m proud of who I am today, which is something I couldn’t have said this time a few years ago. I’ve come a long way in the past year and had many experiences which a lot of people my age have never even have a chance to experience for themselves.

I had an essentially quiet, but nice day. James and I went to see I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry this afternoon, and then we went out to dinner with his family. It was a really lovely day all up. It was kind of an odd feeling, having my first birthday away from home. It’s hard to explain, but it feels odd all the same.

The best part of tonight was definetely watching the total lunar eclipse which occured tonight. It was an absolutely beautiful sight, and an awesome birthday present. Thanks, Mr. Universe!

Mid-semester break started on Monday, thank God! I’m just lapping up the time I have off, because Uni was kicking my butt. I have a lot of catch up to do, so that’s what I’ll be doing all next week. For the moment, I just need some time to relax and wind down.

I’m quite tired, so I think I might go and crawl off to bed. :)

Edit: If you’ve read any good books lately, let me know! I’m after some new books to help me complete my 50 book challenge. :)

Happy Belated Birthday, sweetie!! You have every reason in the world to be proud of yourself!

I need an astrological birthday present like that - would definitely put a spark on the occasion.

Happy late birthday! Sounds like it was good, even if it was your first away from home. And it must have been pretty cool to get to see the lunar eclipse on the same day too.

Like I said on Lavish, happy late birthday! Sorry I’m a little bit behind.

As for books, if you haven’t read any of these you MUST:
- Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell
- His Dark Materials Trilogy (Northern Lights, Subtle Knife, Amber Spyglass) by Phillip Pullman
- My Best Friends Girl by Dorothy Koomson
I was going to suggest anything Jodi Picoult but you already know that :).

Happy birthday a couple days late, heh! I haven’t really read any good books lately. Kind of depressing. I did recently finish “Eat the Document” by Dana Spiotta, and it was pretty decent.

It sounds like you had a wonderful birthday, not just going to the movies and seeing the lunar eclipse.. but also the way you feel.. accomplished. That’s a better present than anything I could ever immagine :)
