Every time I’d hear Transatlanticism in the past, I would cry. It was the epitome of James and I’s relationship: Separated by ocean, never quite close enough.
Here are the lyrics…
The Atlantic was born today, and I’ll tell you how:
The clouds above opened up and let it out.I was standing on the surface of a perforated sphere
When the water filled every hole.
And thousands upon thousands made an ocean,
Making islands where no island should go.
Oh no.Most people were overjoyed; they took to their boats.
I thought it less like a lake and more like a moat.
The rhythm of my footsteps crossing floodlands to your door
Have been silenced forever more.
The distance is quite simply much too far for me to row
It seems farther than ever before
Oh no.I need you so much closer [x12]
Is it wrong that even now that I see him every single day, I still hear this song, and I still cry? I hear the song, and I still think about how I need him so much closer?
*sigh*

Love is never wrong. What we do out of love is never wrong. Unless we kill someone intentionally. Do something about it. Just don’t kill anyone. =)

I am in love with that song beyond proportion - yet every time I hear it I am reminded of a less fun time. I guess in a ways I can imagine the way it can sort of affect people.
But whatever is it, I do hope it works out for you just so such a beautiful song doesn’t make you cry :)

I’ve never heard that song but the lyrics are beautiful. Who’s singing it?

It’s a shame he won’t listen to you… try giving him a taste of his own medicine??
I love that song, too.

It makes perfect sense to me. You want him closer you remember the song when he wasn’t yours. Perfect sense.

I understand the long-distance relationship thing, it’s very, VERY hard. And it must be strange indeed to go from long-distance to.. not long-distance. I hope you are able to figure things out! :)
