… Describe and discuss the potential impact of global warming on Antarctica.
Oh, what a fun way to spend my week. I could list hundreds of potential impacts on global warming in general, but do you think I can think of an essay worth of impacts in regards to Antarctica alone? Sure, I could talk about Patagonian toothfish for the entire essay and how they won’t be able to adapt to temperature increases, but fuck, my last essay was all about Toothfish. I WANNA DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT.
*shakes fist*
Look’s like i’ll be reading a whole heap of scientific articles tonight just to get ideas. And a whole heap more scientific articles tomorrow just to get my facts.
And in the mean time, my apartment is still a mess, my laundry still isn’t done, my fridge is still lacking anything edible and my patience is running low. Serves me right for not doing this damn essay in the holidays, right?
In other news, I was scared out of my fucking pants this morning. The Emergency Alarm System on my level of the apartment building was turned on. Of course, they didn’t announce that it was a test and that we did not have to do anything until AFTER i’d gathered things important and packed my stuff. Since the alarm, i’ve been jumpy and nervous all day. I mean, I nearly shat myself when a cellphone went off right behind my head in a lecture. If that’s not jumpy, I don’t know what is? They really should have left us a notice in the mail or in the elevator that the alarm system would be tested this morning. At least I wouldn’t have had to scrape my stomach off the ceiling! (metaphorically speaking.)
Damn this essay. It should learn to write itself.

I know your feelings exactly. They test the fire alarms in my halls every Friday morning when I’m innocently sleeping. Talk about a wake up call.
Global warming? I can’t help you much there because my knowledge is limited but I have my little theories. I do think that global warming is happening but I don’t think it’s entirely our fault. We don’t know everything about our planet’s weather behaviour so far all we know global warming could be a completely natural thing that happens every billion years. And there’s also that thing about the ozone healing itself back up (not sure if that has much to do with?). However I did watch this program yesterday on Inuits and they feel global warming in that area (far north I believe - please excuse my lame geographical knowledge) more than any where else.

Essays can really be a pain when it has a boring subject. But I’ve heard that we actually shouldn’t worry too much about the global warming, it’s natural that it gets more hot and more cold at certain areas. For example I live in Scandinavia and over here we had the ice age thousands of years back. After this warm period it’ll get colder and eventually a new ice age will come. What the global warming does to the world is to speed the process up a bit. It sure can be critical but it’s still natural, without the global warming it would happen anyway. But then again there are articles saying the opposite, that it’s really bad with the global warming and that it should be worked on asap. So I feel sort of torn, don’t know who to listen to >.

I hate when I get assignments like that. I can be so knowledgable about a topic but then my topic is ever so slightly changed so that I find myself frustrated and pouring research into something that I shouldn’t have to. I am sure your essay will turn out fine, but I understand your frustration. Emergency alarm systems are annoying most of the time. I understand their purpose but it’s just that stories like this are more frequent than them actually saving someone.

LOL, trade you. I have to write a 1500-2000 word essay on how child abuse effects the child’s development.
