Okay, so I missed blogging…

I’m baaaaaaaack!

So, my rump no longer rests in Sydney. It currently rests in Auckland, New Zealand! I’ve been here for about three weeks, but i’ve only just moved into my apartment. The apartment is so nice - it’s very modern, and big enough for one or two people, but it’s not huge. It’s taking a bit of getting used to, though. It’s not quite “home” yet, but it’s getting there. I’ve fallen in love with staring out my window at night. The city lights and the sounds really attract me… I think that’s the biggest part that’s making it feel like “home” to me - it just feels right.

I had plenty of dramas with the furniture though. Not only was the delivery delayed three weeks, but when it actually arrived, the bed, coffee table and one of the bar stools were missing parts or were completely wrong parts. I still have no coffee table or screws for a barstool, so the apartment looks an absolute mess (there’s packaging and parts everywhere.. Walking through it is like walking through a mine field.)

I’m really enjoying Uni too, which is good. Biosci101 is just so basic: It’s all the stuff I did in years 11 and 12 so the lectures are closer to “sleepy time” than “write notes time.” However, my lecture is quite entertaining - he’s completely technologically disadvantaged, but his examples are so very random. He actually brought a live crayfish to the lecture as an example of something with an exoskeleton. Law is so challenging because it’s all NZ law and Maori law. I’m terribly confused, but hopefully James will clear some things up. My other classes are quite good :) Computer Science is fun: Java!

I’ll certainly blogging on a regular basis now that I have a desk in the apartment and time on my hands. Don’t expect a new layout or site changes for a while though - I don’t have the files or programs necessary on my laptop, and my PC is currently floating on the ditch between Auckland and Sydney (i.e. I haven’t recieved it yet.)

Oh: If you’re looking for a link exchange, let me know!

So you’ve come crawling back to blogging now, have you? Maybe it doesn’t want you back! No, I’m only kidding, Sarah!

Auckland seems like a really pretty place, I’ve never been to NZ but it’s definitely on my places to go list! It’s great to hear that you’re having fun at uni and all!

Sarah, I’m so happy for you! This is what you have worked so hard towards for so long and I wish you the best of luck.

Java? That sounds hard!

wow, I so totally envy you! :) I’ve never been to either Australia or New Zealand, but I certainly wanna see them some day! New Zealand is actually on my list for “possible countries to live in for like 1-2 years”…. :)
And I wish I had the patience (or some classes) to learn Java… ;)

You will get used to it, the view sounds wonderful, the kind of view I wish I had out my window, but all I see is the other trailers across the street. You will do well in all your classes, just take it a step at a time and you will be ok. Good luck getting everything settled. :)

That’s great that you’re getting used to your new place :] I have never moved, so I have no idea how it is to be in a new home, lol.

That’s quite a move! Sounds like a great time though, except for delivery stuff. So typical when things like that happen! Have fun settling in, I’m sure everything will be great soon enough :)

Glad Uni is going well for you too :)
