I’m not dead … But the HSC is slowly killing me.
Note: Sewwy.com is on a temporary hiatus until about the 10th of November. :)
God, it’s been a busy past few weeks. My final day at Roseville College was 12 days ago, and it already feels as if i’ve been finished for ages. I really miss the girls and all my teachers though. It seems so strange that all of a sudden I am quite literally, free. I’ve been waiting for this time for 13 years, and now that it’s finally arrived, it seems so strange. It’s a wierd feeling not having to wake up before seven every morning and spend the day surrounded by a mass of people you’ve gotten to know so, so well, before going home and spending another several hours doing homework. Instead, I’m waking up at about 9 or 10, doing 8 or so hours of study a day before collapsing in tiredness.
My last week of school was really, really lovely though. We had several assemblies, the final valedictory assembly was an incredible tear jerker, as it was a final farewell to all the year 12s. The year 11s held us an afternoon tea, which was really nice. The following morning, the teachers held us a breakfast and put on a performance (the revue) for us, of which was a really funny and lovely way to cap off 6 years of high school. We then put on our Revue for the rest of the school, which was a lot of fun. The Thursday night was our valedictory dinner, which was beautiful, delicious and fun all in one. The school bought us each a really beautiful bracelet with an “R, 2006″ engraved on a medallion. *sighs* It’s going to be so sad knowing that I may not see 90% of the people I really have grown up with… The week held a lot of tears, but I’m still very happy to be moving foward with my life.
My “Post Birthday, Pre HSC” party was last Sunday. Soooo much fun! I got nice and tipsy, my brother got absolutely smashed, my friends and family had heaps and heaps of fun, and I got some really nice presents out of it, including a wonderful hot pink lava lamp for my appartment from Lou, lots of jewelery, bags, a nice wallet and, of course, alcohol (a great bottle of Chandon and a delicious looking bottle of Yellowglen’s Pink.)
At the moment, I’m down in our holiday house in order to get some peace and quiet in order to study. The weather has been reasonably nice, except yesterday and today, where its been cold and windy (the weather’s supposed to clear by tomorrow though) and I’m getting a reasonable amount of study done. I’m coming down with a cold, though, which sucks, so i’ve been pumping myself with Cold and Flu tablets and orange juice for vitamin C. Hopefully it’ll have cleaned up by the end of the week, or the start of the HSC at the latest (next Friday.)
My first night here provided me with a panic attack, however, which was highly unexpected. Ugh. I went to plug my laptop in to the electrical outlet behind my bed and nearly passed out when I found a dead huntsman or funnel web spider right underneath it. Being anacrophobic, I had a panic attack, and pretty much started hyperventalating and crying. I knew it was dead, but it didn’t stop me from freaking out. I grabbed the flyspray and doused the remains in it just in case it wasn’t actually dead, and then tried to remove it with a dustpan and broom. This only caused me to freak out even more, because when i brushed the remains to get it out from behind the bed, I would shock myself each time it moved (even though it was really me moving it.) i ended up having to cover it in about a roll of toilet paper and then brush it into the pan, because well, if I can’t see it, it’s not there, right? Well, it took me about 2 hours to fully calm down, but I was still on edge all night.
Anyway, I’m going to go watch CSI now. I’m sorry for not blogging in such a long time, but I’ve just had so much on. Chances are that I won’t be blogging again until after the HSC due to well… me doing the HSC :P Thank you for all your comments though :) I will try to return any as soon as possible. :)
