Right now, i’m going through my intense music list and getting rid of all the crap I no longer listen to. I am looking for new music though, so I’m always open to suggestions! This is where you come in. I need you to give me some suggestions!
How about filling this in for me:
1. Recommend me a band/artist.
2. Suggest three of their songs that I should try out.
3. Why is this band worthy of my listening, and what makes these three songs great?
4. What is the one classic song (not related to the above band/artist) that I should have in my playlist and why?
:)

1. Sufjan Stevens.
2. Well, I don’t know all of his stuff because a friend just turned me on to his music, but I’d recommend Come On! Feel The Illinoise!, Vito’s Ordination Song, and Chicago.
3. His music is both soothing and intellectual at the same time. It’s just great music all around, actually. I’ve yet to meet a person who didn’t like Sufjan Stevens. Actually, I know one person, but she’s very superficial about her music… she only likes things other people like and she never listens to a song for more than one minute. Grr, she makes me angry. And, like I said, I don’t know all of his stuff, but those are the songs that I have that I listen to a lot.
4. “Back in Black” - AC/DC
Everyone needs that song. ’nuff said.

3. The band is great. The lyrics are awesome. The music is very emotional and grabbing. The first song I ever heard from them is Konstantine and I immediately fell in love.
4. What is the one classic song (not related to the above band/artist) that I should have in my playlist and why?

2. Living For The Weekend, Better Do Better and Stars of CCTV.
3. They’re pretty damn awesome and the songs above are amazingly catchy and get stuck in your head. Plus they’re indie/mainstream-without-fitting-the-mould and should so be a part of everybody’s playlist.
4. Emerge - FischerSpooner. Only because it’s one of my favourite songs ever.

hi nice site! Found you site browsing some other people’s blog =) Anyways to fill in your form:
1. Recommend me a band/artist.
L’Arc~en~Ciel
2. Suggest three of their songs that I should try out.
DIVE TO BLUE
HEAVEN’S DRIVE
snow drop
3. Why is this band worthy of my listening, and what makes these three songs great?
Even though they’re a Japanese band, they are a really good band. I’m not Japanese myself, but this band got me into Japanese music. Since you’re interest in bass, you should try them out. You can hear the bass lines cearly. They are a popular band in Asia, and they released 2 cds already in America under the record lable, Tofurecords, and they had a concert. I can give you more info on them if you want. Anyways, the 3 songs I chose before isn’t my all time favorite of theirs, but their basslines in those songs are incredible.
4. What is the one classic song (not related to the above band/artist) that I should have in my playlist and why?
uhh dunno…. >.<

1. Recommend me a band/artist. Sarah McLachlan
2. Suggest three of their songs that I should try out. Adia, Full of Grace and Train Wreck
3. Why is this band worthy of my listening, and what makes these three songs great? Because Sarah is amazing. Her voice is really beautiful and her songs are original, nothing like anything I’ve heard before.
4. What is the one classic song (not related to the above band/artist) that I should have in my playlist and why? I dunno. :(

I need to do the same thing soon. Hmm… I’m not going to recomend anything because from looking at your bio, not same music taste. But here’s some reccomended stuff:
John Hiatt | Blue Rodeo | U2 | The Tragically Hip | The Barenaked Ladies | Jann Arden | The Arrogant Worms | Prince | Jefferson Airplane | Heart | Neil Young | Bob Dylan | Journey | Foreigner | The Who | The Guess Who | Simon & Garfunkel | The Clash | Fleetwood Mac | Led Zeppelin | The Beatles | David Bowie | The Rolling Stones | Tears for Fears | George Michael | The Box | Phil Collins | Santana | Pink Floyd | REM | CCR | Ozzy Osbourne | Supertramp | Alanis Morrisette | Mylene Farmer | Pet Shop Boys | Men at Work | The Blues Brothers | Madonna | Reba
And etc, etc…
Classic song: White Rabbit - Jefferson Airplane.

I second Jessily’s recommendation of the Pet Shop Boys - they are so awesome!
1. Recommend me a band or artist: Pet Shop Boys
2. Go West, It’s a sin, What have I done to deserve this?
3. Pet Shop Boys are unashamedly camp. You probably know a few of their songs, although you might not realise it. They have two facades, the ‘pop’ and ‘art’ sides - pop is straightforward disco/dance music, while art is darker, more experimental.
4. One classic song: The Cars - Drive. I can’t stop listening to this.

1. Muse
2. Hysteria, Stokholm Syndrom, and Time is running out
3. Its three songs I can listen to constantly and not get tired of. Its upbeat and fast paced while having a certain lyrical content above “have sex with me, im so cool, blingy blingy.” While theres nothing wrong with those, Muse is my escape to it all.
4. Cutie Pie by One Way. Its just a feel good song :D

Unhide your comments link? *glares* I looked like I was chasing a fly.
Band: Cornershop
Songs: We’re in Yr Corner, Candyman and Sleep on the Left Side
Reasons: They’re experimental, but rather than experimenting with their clothing or their sexuality ; ) They do it with their music.
Classic Song: … since a lot of people didn’t give one, I’m making a LIST!
Gimmie Shelter - The Rolling Stones (it gets me turned on *SHHHHHH*)
All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix (you can stomp and sling your hair around to it and if you happen to be stuck listening to it in the car it has cool lyrics)
While my Guitar Gently Weeps - The Beatles (it’s pretty and the piano hurts my ears in a gratifying way)
And if you haven’t listened to Heart- Barracuda (because they’re WOOOMMMMEEENNNN)
